WHAT IS EDSA TAYO?

EDSA Tayo is a response to the question “What now?” posed by one of our friends the day after the Million People March in Luneta on August 26, 2013. We believe that the demand for the complete abolition of the pork barrel system must continue. The demand must now be taken to EDSA, a place where Filipinos have shown a united stand on several occasions in history.

EDSA Tayo is not a political rally. It is a prayer vigil. Hence, banners, placards, effigies, bullhorns and even t-shirts with political slogans are discouraged.

EDSA Tayo is an Inter-faith Event, though it will be held in a Catholic Church and is in fact supported by the clergy. Its culminating activity from 2 pm to 4 pm of Sept. 11 is an Inter-Faith Gathering where an Inter-Faith Prayer for the Complete Abolition of Pork Barrel will be presented and an Inter-Faith Vigil Candle will be lit.
